September 3rd: Part 6 (9(がつ)()()()()()()()()()3()()()()()()()()()()⑥, Kugatsu Mikka (Roku)) is the 90th chapter of the Hunter × Hunter manga, written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi.

Synopsis

Killua says that he and Gon will use Zetsu to track the two Phantom Troupe members. As Killua uses the Nen technique, Leorio says to himself that Killua seemed to fade right in front of him and compares it to him turning transparent. Killua stresses to Gon that they will retreat if they are spotted or if he deems it impossible to follow them any further. He says that he will ring once if he decides to abort the plan, telling Gon to answer on the second call and to put his phone on vibrate. He adds that if the Spiders separate, they will follow the woman. Finally, he tells Leorio to contact Zepile and help him with the auction.

When asked if he has any tracking experience, Gon says that he followed Hisoka during the Hunter Exam, and Killua is impressed that he was able to do so without being noticed. Gon adds that he tracked him for an entire day, impressing Leorio as well and causing Killua to punch him in the back of the head. A confused Gon wonders why he hit him, and Killua just tells him that he passes, adding that they need to stay out of the Spiders' field of vision.

Gon and Killua tailing Nobunaga and Machi

Killua watches the Spiders from a rooftop and calls Gon to tell him that they are leaving the plaza and going down a narrow street. Gon asks if they have been spotted, but Killua assures him that they will be fine while using Zetsu, adding that they still need to be careful since the Spiders are expecting to be followed. After hanging up, Killua worries that Gon doesn't realize that it would be immediately over if they were spotted. He continues to look for any changes in their behavior and says that most people wouldn't be able to notice them. He tells himself that he wouldn't miss their heart skipping a beat, reminding himself he has been playing life-or-death games since he was three years old.

Machi asks if they're being followed, and guessing that they are, Nobunaga describes their Zetsu as perfect (with Machi agreeing). As the Spiders move into an abandoned part of the city, Killua at first worries that they are being led into a trap, but assures himself that they aren't aware of their presence. He considers the possibility that they are heading back to their hideout, deciding to abort the plan if it's a trap and keep following if it's their hideout. Sweat begins to pour down his face as he wonders which it is, telling himself that they have to keep going for now.

The two Spiders stop in the middle of an abandoned plaza, and Machi says that the followers aren't taking the bait. Nobunaga guesses that it's not the chain user since he probably works alone. Machi wonders how he reached that conclusion, and Nobunaga replies that he works for the Nostrade Family and probably fought Uvogin alone. He points out that if the Mafia were involved with Uvogin's death, they would have posted an image of his severed head on the web. He guesses that the chain user didn't report his killing of Uvogin to the Mafia because it was a personal vendetta.

Machi tells him that he is guessing too much, but Nobunaga remains confident that the followers are not connected to the chain user. Machi says that his logic is faulty and that they are somehow connected to him. Hiding in the dilapidated buildings nearby, Killua calls Gon and says that they are either meeting someone there or trying to draw them out. Gon wonders if they have been spotted, and Killua says that if they have, they will tell them to show themselves.

As Killua tells Gon that they will wait a little longer, Nobunaga's phone suddenly rings and Killua says that he is going to hang up, stressing to Gon that the next time he calls, they make a run for it. Nobunaga asks Phinks what's going on and tells him that they are being followed, adding that the people won't show themselves. Phinks asks if he wants a hint, and after a couple seconds, Nobunaga suddenly looks right toward Gon and Killua.

The two boys immediately dart away to escape, but Phinks stops Killua from leaving and Pakunoda stands waiting for Gon. Killua quickly darts around the room, but Phinks grabs him by his right ankle to stop his movement. Killua flings several rocks toward Phinks' face, but the Spider easily dodges them. As Killua readies a kick with his left leg, Phinks realizes that the rocks were decoys and blocks the attack, now holding onto both of Killua's ankles as the boy is left standing upside down.

Killua twists his body and escapes Phinks' grip, leaving him impressed as the skin is torn from Killua's ankles. Nobunaga suddenly appears in the window and asks what Phinks is doing there since he was with Chrollo, leaving Killua stunned since they're on the building's fourth floor. Phinks replies that he had to deceive them to deceive the followers, and Nobunaga says that he knew there were too many Zetsu masters around. Killua realizes that they were being tailed as well and that they're now trapped. As Nobunaga tells Killua that he has some questions to ask, Machi joins Pakunoda in cornering Gon.
