Synopsis

Kurapika explaining his plan to Uvogin

Kurapika explaining his plan to Uvogin

Uvogin is shocked to learn that Kurapika can use every Nen type, and Kurapika confirms this by using his Holy Chain to heal his broken arm instantly. As Uvogin can't believe that he healed the smashed bones so quickly, Kurapika says that he chose him as his first victim because when he fought the three Shadow Beasts by himself, it showed that he likes fighting alone. He lists the feats of Uvogin's physical strength and says that he had to fight him first to test whether his Chain Jail would work against every member of the Phantom Troupe.

Kurapika then reveals that Chain Jail enforces Zetsu on the Spider it captures, and Uvogin realizes that it's the reason why he can't produce any aura. As Uvogin struggles to break free, Kurapika explains that only brute force will work and that if the strongest member of the Troupe is unable to escape, then the others will also be helpless. Uvogin again struggles to break free, but Chain Jail remains intact. He tells himself how dangerous enforced Zetsu is and says that if he can't use his aura, his abilities are useless.

As Uvogin internally praises Kurapika's plan and says that he thought everything out, Kurapika suddenly appears right in front of him and strikes him hard in the midsection with a Nen-enhanced punch. Uvogin stumbles as he coughs up blood, and Kurapika says that he can kill him with his bare hands now that he's restrained. He orders Uvogin to tell him everything he knows, punching him again in the midsection and asking where the other members are, but Uvogin simply tells Kurapika to kill him.

Kurapika then punches him in his left arm and asks what abilities they have, with Uvogin simply repeating that Kurapika should kill him. After several more punches, Kurapika is disgusted by the noises from Uvogin and the smell of blood, angrily asking him how he is unable to think or feel anything. Uvogin once again tells Kurapika to kill him, and Kurapika suddenly stabs Uvogin in the chest with his Judgment Chain, wrapping it around his heart and explaining that the chain will crush it if he breaks the rule he's about to set. He says that Uvogin must answer his questions truthfully, assuring him that he will keep him alive a while longer if he does so.

However, when Kurapika asks where the other members are, Uvogin just smirks and tells him to get lost, causing the chain to activate and kill him. Uvogin falls with all his weight toward the ground, and Kurapika's eyes return to normal as he suddenly feels uneasy and says that he may have taken too long. He calls Melody and tells her that he will be there in an hour, with Melody glad to hear it and saying that Neon's father has been delayed. Kurapika then digs a shallow grave for Uvogin and buries him in the earth, walking toward a nearby car to head back to the city.

At an Internet café, Leorio and Killua both say that they haven't received one useful e-mail or voicemail. Killua says that they don't have the intelligence network to catch the Spiders, and Gon adds that no one would give them a tip without a reward. Killua says that they would also receive a lot of fake tips if they offered a reward, and Leorio realizes that they would waste time sorting through them all. With three days left until the auction on September 6, Gon says that if they can catch just one Spider, they could interrogate them and force them to say where the others are. He suggests asking more concrete information like their whereabouts and offering a big reward, but Leorio points out that they only have the ring left and Killua adds that others were offering Jenny Symbol 20118 million. After Gon replies that they will offer Jenny Symbol 201115 million, and Leorio and Killua wonder where they will get the money, he holds up his Hunter License.

At the Troupe's hideout, Feitan keeps watch near a tortured Owl tied to a chair. Shalnark enters the room and asks if Uvogin is back. Feitan tells him not to worry since Uvogin wouldn't die so easily. The two regroup with the others, and Chrollo says that the perpetrator uses a chain and is probably a Manipulator or Conjurer. He adds that while Uvogin can defeat almost anyone, either of these would best him in a one-on-one fight since the former could manipulate him and the latter could enhance items to nullify his strength. Shalnark blames himself for not going with him, and Chrollo tells the group that if Uvogin isn't back by morning, they will change their plans.

At a pawn shop, a woman uses Gon's license to access the Hunter Website, confirming its authenticity and lending him Jenny Symbol 2011100 million. She tells him that the interest rate is 0% and the amount is due on September 10. An upset Killua wonders whether Gon really wants to pawn his license, reminding him that he will never get it back if he forfeits it. Gon replies that he can't sell it and that a bank wouldn't lend them as much. After Gon signs the paper and says that there's no turning back, both Killua and Leorio think that he's crazy.
