September 4th: Part 4 (9
Synopsis
Kurapika distressed by Hisoka's revelation
As the pouring rain continues outside, Leorio runs after Kurapika and asks him what's wrong, with Killua wondering if the call was from Hisoka. Kurapika replies that it was and that he said the Phantom Troupe's corpses are fake, guessing that one of them has the ability to create copies. Killua likens it to the person at Heavens Arena, and Gon remembers that Kastro was able to create a double. Kurapika comments on how serious the situation is and scolds himself for not realizing sooner that a Conjurer could have such an ability.
Kurapika stops and appears nervous, with Killua asking what's wrong and assuring him that they will do anything to help. Kurapika's phone suddenly rings with a call from Melody, who reveals that the Mafia has ended their search for the remaining Troupe members after they discovered that they are from Meteor City. As Neon is seen looking at the Scarlet Eyes, Melody adds that the Dons themselves gave the order for the search to end.
Killua asks if it was Hisoka calling again, but Kurapika replies that it was someone from his work, revealing what Melody told him and saying that the reward money was also canceled. After Kurapika explains the situation, Gon wonders about Meteor City, and Leorio says that the people who live there don't officially exist. He explains that it started out as an internment camp created by a dictator and that now no country wants to interfere with it, adding that it's the most diverse place on earth.
The Spiders as outliers even in Meteor City
As Leorio reveals that around ten million people survive off the waste that's left behind, which includes gold and weapons given to the city by a certain organization, Kurapika points out that that organization is the Mafia. Gon and Killua are left confused, but Leorio explains that it's the perfect place to recruit since the people there have no official records. He says that the two had the perfect partnership until the Troupe ruined it, adding that even the Troupe is special in such a unique place.
It's stated that Pakunoda is a Specialist whose ability allows her to read memories by touching people and objects. It's added that she can also implant memories in others by firing conjured bullets loaded with them, but if a bullet loaded with someone's memories hits that same person, they will lose them.
Pakunoda reading Hisoka's fortune
At the Troupe's hideout, Chrollo agrees to write out everyone's fortunes since it may help them to avoid danger, telling the other members to write down their name, birthday, and blood type. Since Feitan doesn't know his birthday, and Phinks has no idea about his blood type, they are both unable to have their fortunes told. The others read their fortunes, and as Hisoka reads through his own, Pakunoda asks what it says and tells him to let her see it. A wary Hisoka replies that he doesn't think it's a good idea since she wouldn't like it, but Pakunoda again tells him to let her see it. Hisoka hands over the piece of paper, and Pakunoda seems stunned as she reads it, with Chrollo looking on and Hisoka readying his deck of cards.
