September 4th: Part 3 (9
Synopsis
At the Phantom Troupe's hideout, Chrollo asks Nobunaga for his birthday, but a confused Nobunaga wonders why he's asking him. Chrollo rephrases the question and asks him when he was born, with Nobunaga saying September 8, 1970. Chrollo then asks for his blood type and name, and Nobunaga answers with B and Nobunaga Hazama, wondering why Chrollo is asking him if he already knows it. After Nobunaga writes the information down on a piece of paper, Chrollo uses Neon's Lovely Ghostwriter ability to tell Nobunaga's fortune.
The first two sections differ slightly from Chrollo's as Nobunaga reads through his fortune. Chrollo explains that he stole the ability from a girl who had predicted that they would attack the auction. After Chrollo adds that even several of the Dons are her patrons, Franklin says that everything makes sense as Shizuku wonders what Nobunaga's fortune was. Chrollo says that he doesn't know since his hand wrote it on its own, telling them to ask Nobunaga. He also explains that they are poems with four or five sections that correspond to each week of the month.
Nobunaga revealing that five more Troupe members will die
Shalnark speaks up and asks him what it said, and Nobunaga reveals that five of the Spiders will die the following week. Franklin asks which of them, and Nobunaga replies that he doesn't know, saying that he can only understand the second section about the Spider being cut in half since including Uvogin would make six. As Shizuku and Franklin look over the fortune, Chrollo tells them that his said the same thing and guesses that their fortunes will also be similar.
After Shizuku asks for her fortune and Chrollo writes it out, Shizuku learns that she will be among the dead half, noting that she only has sections for the first two weeks. She adds that Pakunoda and Shalnark will also die, but wonders who "Scarlet Eyes" is. After Nobunaga asks her how she figured it out, Shizuku explains that since the frost moon is November and it's the eleventh month, it's referring to Uvogin who was No. 11 among the Troupe. She says that the other names are months as well, and Chrollo adds that the harvest moon is September, the wine moon August, and the lovers' moon June. He also notes that several of the words such as "barren" and "slumber" are used to represent death.
Phinks is confident that "Scarlet Eyes" doesn't refer to any of them, guessing that it's the chain user. Pakunoda remembers what the term means, and Feitan says that one of them must have survived. The member covered in bandages asks if the chain user will also die, but Phinks replies that just "bloody" is too vague. Shalnark speaks up and stresses to Nobunaga that it's not worth losing so many of their members just to go after the chain user. He adds that while Nobunaga's and his own ability are replaceable, they can't afford to lose Shizuku and Pakunoda's since they're rare.
Chrollo reminding Nobunaga of his dedication to the Troupe
Chrollo says that it's the first Saturday in September and that it would be unlikely for them to encounter the chain user next week if they went home immediately. He comments on how useful the fortunes are and says that if they leave without fighting, the poems won't come true. He reminds Nobunaga that he and Uvogin agreed to risk their lives for the rest of the group, adding that Shizuku, Pakunoda, and Shalnark are vital to the Troupe for their recon and cleanup and that it's his job to protect them. He wonders which of them is truly being selfish and asks if he has anything else to say, with Nobunaga replying that he doesn't.
As storm clouds gather outside, Killua stresses to Kurapika that they have to act quickly before the remaining members leave the group's hideout. Kurapika recognizes that the memory reader could be a threat, but says that he has to move on now that their leader is dead, agreeing with Gon that he should focus on recovering the eyes of his people. However, Hisoka suddenly sends Kurapika a text message saying that the corpses are fake, leaving Kurapika stunned as rain begins to fall outside.
